Return, Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Acquire Rent A Car, we understand that travel plans may change. This Return & Cancellation Policy outlines our guidelines regarding booking cancellations, modifications, early vehicle returns, and applicable refunds for car rental services in Dubai, UAE.

By making a reservation with us—online, by phone, or in person—you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Booking Cancellation

  • Free Cancellation:
    Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time are eligible for a full refund (if a deposit or full payment was made).
  • Late Cancellation:
    Cancellations made less than 48 hours before pickup will incur a cancellation fee equal to one (1) day’s rental charge or 100 AED (whichever is higher).
  • No-Show:
    If you do not pick up the vehicle and fail to notify us, the booking will be considered a “no-show,” and no refund will be issued.

2. Early Return of Vehicle

  • If you return the vehicle earlier than your reserved drop-off time, you will be charged only for the actual rental period used, calculated on a daily or hourly basis (as per your original rate plan).
  • No refund will be issued for unused days if the rental was booked under a weekly/monthly discounted rate, unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.
  • Early returns must be communicated to our team in advance whenever possible to ensure smooth processing.

3. Refund Process

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method (credit/debit card or bank account).
  • Refunds may take additional time to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.
  • Security deposits are refunded within 14 business days after vehicle inspection, provided there is no damage, fines, or excess mileage.

4. Non-Refundable Bookings

Certain promotional offers, seasonal rates, or special packages may be marked as “Non-Refundable” at the time of booking. These bookings cannot be cancelled or modified, and no refunds will be issued under any circumstances—except as required by UAE consumer protection laws.

5. Vehicle Replacement or Service Issues

If the reserved vehicle is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a comparable or upgraded vehicle at no extra cost. If a suitable replacement is not available, you may cancel your booking for a full refund.

In case of mechanical failure or safety issues during your rental, contact us immediately. We will arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle, and adjust your rental charges accordingly.

6. Fees Not Eligible for Refund

The following charges are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Traffic fines and Salik tolls
  • Parking violations
  • Fuel costs
  • Additional driver fees
  • Insurance top-up fees (unless unused and pre-approved for refund)
